Demolition of Existing Dormer Bungalow

The existing dormer bungalow no longer suited the needs of modern family life, so my clients made the decision to pursue a new-build solution. Given the site’s height restrictions—typical of a street made up of both bungalows and dormer bungalows—we had to think creatively to maximise space on the first floor. A mono-pitched roof provided the ideal solution, allowing us to optimise head height and internal volume without exceeding planning constraints. Contemporary materials such as aluminium-framed glazing, coloured render, and roof lanterns not only enhance natural light but also define the home’s clean, modern aesthetic.
